Since I’ve been an attorney, we have offered free consultations. In some respects, it’s something I feel I give back to the community because people come to me with the problems that they have in their marriages and I actually enjoy speaking to them. It’s one of the personal pleasures that I have as an attorney because people will leave and I often times get the compliment “I feel much better now”. When you are able to sit down with somebody and get an understanding of what my rights and responsibilities and you leave there not having to pay for it, you have a good sense about the attorney, hopefully me, and I know that’s true for my clients. You also walk away with an understanding of your rights and responsibilities. For me, it works. I have people return to me as a result, so I enjoy doing it for all those reasons.
