Sometimes, things happen in life, such as a loss of employment, which impacts a person’s ability to pay their alimony obligation. If that happens, our statute requires that at least 90 days pass before a person can make a request to the court to reduce their alimony obligation based on that loss of employment. However, the statute also provides that the court may retroactively modify the alimony obligation during that 90-day period.
